Legal Metrology Rules 2026 Mandate Indian Standard Time
The Department of Consumer Affairs has notified new rules making Indian Standard Time the mandatory common time reference.

Biodiversity Authority disburses ₹5.68 crore in access-benefit funds
The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) has released ₹5.68 crore in Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS) funds for biodiversity conservation.
- NBA disbursed ₹5.68 crore under Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS) mechanism.
- Funds were channeled to State Biodiversity Boards, UT Biodiversity Councils, and research institutions.
- Major ABS components relate to Okra, Watermelon, and Cucumber varieties.
- Largest component, ₹3.51 crore, was for Okra, covering 139 varieties and 28 hybrids.
- Top recipients include Gujarat (₹88,79,304) and West Bengal (₹78,08,691).
- Total ABS amount disbursed by NBA has now crossed ₹191 crore.
