ECLGS 5.0: Enhancing Business Resilience with Credit Guarantees
The **Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) 5.0** provides targeted credit support to businesses amidst external economic disruptions.
- The ECLGS was launched in 2020 under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Package.
- ECLGS 5.0 was approved on 5th May 2026, aiming for ₹2.55 lakh crore additional credit.
- It is implemented by the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company (NCGTC).
- The scheme is operational until 31 March 2027 or until ₹2.55 lakh crore guarantees are issued.
- It covers MSMEs, eligible non-MSME businesses, and scheduled passenger airlines.
- It provides 100% guarantee for MSMEs and 90% for non-MSMEs and airlines.

National Biodiversity Authority Crosses ₹200-Crore ABS Disbursement Milestone
The **National Biodiversity Authority (NBA)** has surpassed ₹200 crore in cumulative Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS) disbursements, strengthening biodiversity conservation efforts.
- NBA disbursed ₹8.23 crore in ABS proceeds to 27 State Biodiversity Boards and 5 UT Biodiversity Councils.
- Funds came from using Bitter Gourd, Okra, Chilli, and Onion by M/s Nunhems India Pvt. Ltd., M/s East West Seeds India Pvt. Ltd., and M/s Bayer Science and Innovation Pvt. Ltd.
- Disbursement for untraceable resources is based on cultivation area, with Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra being largest recipients.
- Funds will support activities under Section 32(2) of the Biological Diversity Act 2002, including People's Biodiversity Registers.
- This aligns with Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), Nagoya Protocol, and Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework Target 13.
